Zecco Costs
For Common Stock purchases the cost is only $4.95 per stock trade. Option trades only cost $4.95 plus $.65 a contract. There is no minimum balance required to open a new account, no minimum monthly requirement, and no closing costs. Accounts below the $25,000 minimum assets are only charged $4.50 per trade for equities. At Zecco, there are no hidden charges, period.
How Does Zecco Make Money?
Aside from the small commission charges mentioned above, Zecco makes money on client margin balances and by advertisements on their financial portal from companies like Google. They keep their costs low and don’t spend a fortune on advertising like most brokerage firms. In addition, Zecco also offers Premium Services to facilitate the buying and selling of securities.
The latest premium offerings available to Zecco Trading customers
are: Zecco Streamer Lite, Zap Trade, and Zecco Mobile Lite app. Zecco Streamer Lite is free (with no obligation) and gives users the choice of streaming delayed quotes covering all major exchanges or real-time bid/ask and last sale information from the BATS exchange for over 1,000 of the most traded stocks. Zap Trade is a browser plug-in that enables you to get real-time quotes and submit stock trades from your Zecco Trading account while you are visiting popular investing research sites. The Zecco Mobile Lite app allows you to watch your investments and stay current on the latest market news, stock and option quotes.
What Types of Securities Can be Purchased?
Stocks listed on U.S. Stock Exchanges and foreign securities trading over-the-counter (OTC) in the U.S. can all be bought or sold online. Zecco also allows the purchase of both open-end and closed-end mutual funds, bonds, CDs, options, and also the popular Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs).
Miscellaneous
- Multiple Account Types, such as Individual, Joint, Retirement Accounts, and Forex/Precious Metals can all be opened.
- Interest is paid on cash balances over $500. Higher paying Money Market Sweep Accounts are also available.
- Zecco allows account holders to automatically reinvest dividends for equities and exchange traded funds (ETFs).
